Buyers Need Representation Too

When thinking of purchasing a home and knowing it will likely be the most expensive purchase of your life, do you think it wise to complete the transaction without a professional guardian by your side every step of the way?

So many times I hear people say, “I walked into an open house the other day, I fell in love with the home and I’m having the seller’s agent help me with the transaction. They were there and happy to help me.”

Dual agency by an agent is legal in the State of California. But did you know that the seller’s agent has a primary duty to the seller and not to you, the buyer?  How would that benefit you? If wouldn’t. Your best interest is not a duty the seller’s agent is obligated to perform.

Did you know your own buyer’s agent will work for “FREE” for you? It is true! When a property is listed in the MLS, the seller’s agent agrees to pay the buyer’s commission from their proceeds. That option levels the playing field for you, as a buyer, to have your own real estate professional on your team helping you save time and money. It also allows you to rest easier during the purchasing process knowing your best interest if being looked after by a REALTOR.

Remember a seller’s agent works for the seller. When you are a buyer, get your own Real Estate Professional who will help you during this sometimes tedious process. Home ownership is worth it, but enjoying the process is worth having a professional watching your back the whole way through is important.
